Markeaton Services and Fine Art
Markeaton Services and Fine Art is a business founded in the United Kingdom in 1996 by Janet and Roger Mundy.
The business was created to focus on the repair and cleaning of art work activities that continue to this day. However, we are now better known as an online retailer of fine art prints and note-cards by leading artists David F Dane and Kim Prior, as well as photo postcards by Matthew Dane.
In the early 1990s Waterways Publications Ltd had been set up to support David Dane (see left) as an artist and involve him in the promotion and publishing of his own work. When David wished to be his own master again, it was considered wise for Markeaton Services and Fine Art to take over Waterways Publications, leaving David clear to do what he wished.
A small quantity of David Dane’s original paintings from the early 1990s are for sale, and can be seen at Markeaton Services and Fine Art at The Old Post Office, West Raynham, Fakenham, Norfolk NR21 7AD, United Kingdom. We plan to display them on this site in the near future.
Please contact us at any time to arrange a viewing.
David’s son, Matthew Dane, is a very skilled photographer whose photo postcards portray in a special way the beauty of nature and the uniqueness of the county of Norfolk.
Kim Prior is a well-known and brilliant watercolour artist among her many other talents as can be seen from her website www.segur-prior.eu. We are pleased to offer prints of some of her fine British wild animal paintings on this site but she is highly skilled at capturing likenesses of all types of animals, and also undertakes commissions. Do visit her website for more information.
Ogle Castle in Northumberland in the UK is a limited edition fine art copy of an original print created around 1794. The master was owned by one of the last of the main line Ogle descendants, Miss Bridget Ogle. We felt that it could be a wonderful family treasure to have for other members of the Ogle clan spread all over the world.
The print is sold with a short history of the Ogle family taken from the earliest available records, plus a family tree of the main line. It is posted out carefully rolled in a tube, allowing it to be mounted and framed in a way that suits you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to find out more.
