Under the United Kingdom’s Distance Selling Regulations you have the right to cancel your order for any item purchased from Markeaton for a full refund.  However, please note that this does not apply to items that have been damaged or altered in any way (e.g. by permanently mounting a print).

Requests for order cancellations must be made to the postal or email address below, quoting your order number, within seven days.  Once you have cancelled your order, the prints/cards should be returned to the address below, in their original condition, within 21 days of receipt (28 days for customers outside the UK).  The item remains your responsibility until it received by us.

Under the UK's' E-Commerce Regulations our contract with you will only be formed if your order is accepted – and payment does not necessarily indicate such acceptance.  In the event that we are unable or unwilling to fulfil an order then we will provide a refund in full via PayPal.

Our prices shown include packing, but exclude postage – which will be calculated at Royal Mail Second Class Post rates and added at the Checkout.  We are not registered for VAT.

Your account
Our products may be purchased from this site by credit/charge card or PayPal account.  Markeaton and its affiliates reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion.

Product descriptions
Markeaton Services and Fine Art is careful to be as accurate as possible.  However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free.  If a product offered by Markeaton is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in an undamaged condition.

Trademarks
All other trademarks not owned by Markeaton that appear on this site are the property of their respective owners, who may or may not be affiliated with, connected to, or sponsored by Markeaton.

Shipping & returns

Delivery Information
Markeaton ships all its products by Royal Mail Second Class Post. Our customers are presented with a calculated postage charge for their order at the Checkout – depending on the weight of their consignment and the delivery address.  The charge is calculated automatically according to Royal Mail's published UK and international rates.

If our system is unable to calculate a postage cost, or if the total estimated weight of your consignment is over 1kg, then the customer will be alerted at the Checkout and the postage price will appear on the order as '£0.00'.  We will then contact you before fulfilling the order to agree a postage price.  The order will not be fulfilled until the agreed postage has been paid.  Prints/cards are normally despatched within a week of receipt of order.

If we have insufficient stock to fulfil your requirements then you will be alerted at the earliest opportunity and a full refund provided.  Payment via this website does not guarantee our acceptance of your order (see panel left).

We are unable to guarantee delivery of prints/cards by any particular date.

Important: Any customs or import duties are levied once our consignment reaches its destination country.  Additional charges for customs clearance must therefore be borne by the recipient.  We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.  Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you may want to contact your local customs office for further information prior to purchase.

Returns and exchanges
Customers in the United Kingdom who are not completely satisfied with their online purchase may return it to us within 21 days for a full refund.  Customers from outside the United Kingdom may return their purchase within 28 days for a full refund.  Refunds are offered exclusive of return carriage.

All returned prints/cards must be completely undamaged and in appropriate protective packaging. We will not accept returned items for refund or exchange that show signs of damage.

How to return or exchange an item
1.  Email us at info@markeaton.co.uk within 7 days of receipt of your order (14 days for overseas customers), indicating why you wish to return the item and whether you are looking for an exchange or a refund.
2.  Package your item securely and appropriately and include a note of your own name, address, telephone number/email address and your order number (see your order confirmation email). Please be sure to use packaging material that will protect the contents against folding, creasing or other damage during transit.
3.  Label the package as follows:

4.  Post the package and email us again to confirm that the item has been despatched.
5.  Returned items remain your responsibility until they are received by us.  For your own protection, therefore, we recommend that you return your purchase using a postal or courier service that insures you for the value of the prints/cards.  We are afraid we cannot refund your return postage costs.
6.  Qualifying returns will be exchanged or refunded as soon as possible.  You will be informed by email when your refund has been processed or when a replacement item has been despatched.
7.  Refunds can only be made to the same PayPal account or credit/charge card, as the original payment.  Similarly, exchange prints/cards will only be sent out to the same delivery address as the original order.

Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.  Thank you for purchasing from Markeaton Services and Fine Art.

We are a UK-based online retailer of exclusive fine art prints of landscape paintings from Norfolk and Scotland, including those by the well-known Norfolk-based artist David F Dane.  Our products sell worldwide.

We also offer photo postcards, animal prints, and a large special edition historical print of Ogle Castle in Northumberland.  These products may be purchased via this website or by email/post.
